Hi! I'm Jeanne and I love all things Coastal!
Photography has been a lifelong passion for me, rooted in my childhood fascination with capturing moments. My journey began with a humble Brownie camera, igniting a love for preserving life’s memories through the lens. Over the years, photography has become not only a creative outlet but also a profound source of healing and reflection.
In the early 2000s, I sustained a spinal injury that profoundly challenged my daily life. During my recovery, I sought solace at the serene shores of Sullivan’s Island near my home in Charleston, South Carolina. There, as the sun rose each morning, I began documenting its beauty, finding peace and strength in each image I captured. Photography became my way of reconnecting with the world and myself.
In 2009, I faced another life-altering challenge when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a two-year battle, I emerged as a survivor, and my connection to my photography deepened even further. Each sunrise, coastal landscape, and wildlife image I captured became a testament to resilience and the beauty of life’s fleeting moments.
Over the past 30+ years, I have amassed a collection of nearly 5,000 photographs that reflect my love for coastal landscapes, sunrises, sunsets, and the natural world. Many local artists have used my photography as inspiration for commissioned paintings, a collaboration that brings me immense joy.
Photography has been far more than a profession for me—it has been a companion through life’s trials and triumphs, a medium for storytelling, and a healing instrument that I am now excited to share with the world. My work invites viewers to pause, reflect, and find beauty in the everyday, just as I have done throughout my life.
